Very few bugs get past this part because if they do, many people are in trouble. This only happens at the end of a release because it is such in-depth testing, it would be a waste of time to do all the time. Meaning the automated QA will run the application, check every window, radio button, image and many other things.

We have software which goes through thousands of in application testing. The fourth process is a form of automated QA. This QA testing is done by a person and i personally have had bugs found which were so convolutedly reproduced, made me wonder what the hell they are doing. They take a build of our software with the code changes in place and do many tests (not exactly sure how or what all they do, I just know they test things thoroughly). The third process is QA (Quality Assurance). Our code is sent to co-workers, typically 1-3 depending on size/complexity/collateral of code and 0-2 leads (leads are typically someone who has been there a long time AND understands the code base or sometimes a supervisor) depending on size/complexity/collateral. I typically find most bugs here, that I missed when actually coding. This process includes adding our code to a build and testing in a controlled environment. It is the process the “developer” goes through to “test” that their code is working and functional.

Where I work (Agile Environment) we have a system in place where you do what is called development testing.

As a software developer bugs are a part of life, but with bugs comes testing.

I am a software developer, I have a Masters in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning from Georgia Tech and I love this game.
